PANEL FLOOD LIGHTING

Recommended Posts

Guest joe308

Are there any tutotrials (or does someone have data) regarding how I can add flood lighting to a new P3 Orion panel (Pilot & CoPilot) I've just completed? Any input appreciated.JoeT

One way to do it is to1) paint the night panel background with the flood lighting effects, then make holes (transparent) for the areas where your gauge displays and animated switches will appear, then2) assign that image file to a gauge that follows the panel lights parameter.in other words, you would create a gauge which displays your night textured background when the panel lights are toggled on (when case value = 1).the reason you will need holes for your gauge displays is becuase the night-painted background will technically be a large gauge image covering the whole panel area including all the other gauges.Gabriel

GabrielTks for the input. All I have to figure out now is the "night lighting effects":-hmmm ...I have (use) PSP8 but like most, know the basics and tend to sly away from the complicated stuff. Guess it time to start experimenting. Again, tksJoeT

Your welcome guys :)ok well one way that I found works well is to select the areas of the panel which will be litup/flooded, then feather the selection to give it a gradated edge, and then brighten the selected area using Curves (adobe photoshop) or Brightness or Levels. Then, invert the selection and darken the rest of the panel. That should do it.Gabriel
