"Ultimate" 747-400 repaints - NOT

Recommended Posts

Downloaded ult_b747_400.zip which proposed to replace the default 747's in FS9 with realistic airlines --- Lufthansa, British Airways, Northwest, and Air Canada. Caught my eye as I am tired of Landmark, etc. Followed the installation instructions carefully, but the results were horrible. The EGT guage goes redline at takeoff and remains there, even at flight idle. N1 and N2 values are hopelessly unrealistic. Tried to locate the authors by searching on this site to no avail. Still searching for repaints of the default 747 fleet that do not change or interfere with the flight models.Ideas anyone?747fan CYYC

Well, you've just learned (hopefully) a valuable lesson: Never install any modification to the default a/c!Instead, use Explorer to copy/paste a backup copy of the entire a/c's folder so that you can easily revert to the original. You can easily install only the new 'liveries' and keep the lame, original panel... ;)

As a responsible flight simmer, I did backup the original files before installing the modification, and have since reinstalled the original files and then applied just the textures. At least the original "lame" panel is functional, which is a great deal more than I can say for the modification!

>>"The EGT guage goes redline at takeoff and remains there, even at flight idle. I can't speak for this version, except to say that this looks like an OLD version of Pedro's FDE.Try his newest one, I think it's version 7-something. It certainly seemed a great improvement over the default MS 747, which had WAY too much engine power.
