Making a Model with GMAX

Recommended Posts

Guest Jos

Hi,Want to know if there is a good overview how to make a model in GMAX... how to proceed in making the mdl, how to place it in the scenery... and how to add lights. Is there a great difference with scenery ? What are the things you can do ?If I make a simple box and make it a mdl... what happens, what for files I get and what can I do further ?Running FS2002.Greetz. Jos

Hello,I tried yesterdag to make a model: drawing a simple object... saved it as xyz.gmax... and exported it as xyz.mdl, but: now way to fill in any options (no display was shown).Must I do all this in the .asm and .0_asm file afterwards ?Very confusing and a little explanation will do wonders.Thanks. Jos

First, what kind of model did you try to export, aircraft or scenery? If scenery, you must choose the Flightsim Scenery Object, not the Flightsim Aircraft Object export option...I would highly suggest that before you get a hernia flailing about that you download and READ the Flight Simulator 9 SDK for either Scenery building or aircraft building. Choose one and then learn from following the tutorials included.
