FSDS 3 Makemdl, bglcomp and bglc_9

Recommended Posts

I have installed FSDS 3 and like it so far, but some things just aren't panning out. I know, for instance that I need Makemdl and bglcomp and bglc_9 but I cannot find any tutorials on how to use them or install them so that I can test my aircraft as its built.Anyone please let me know how to install and use these so that I can move on in the project. Also, there seems to be a problem with my boolean procedure. when I select both the part to be cut and the 'tool' the boolean button isn't highlighted. Gotta be doing something wrong here, or maybe my two problems are related, who knowsThanks Keith

The "tutorials" to installing and using makemdl, bglcomp, etc. come in the respective Microsoft SDKs.The only "difference" is that if you don't have gmax installed which you don't need, anyway, if you're using FSDS3), you can install the components into your FSDS3 "plugins" folder.WHen selecting both the part and "tool" MAKE SURE that the "tool" part is NAMED "tool" - no suffixes, etc.

Ok, I have installed them into the plugins folder instead of the default SDK folder that it wanted to create. Now I get the following error when I try to bring the project to FS:MSXML4.DLL could not be loadedconfig files will not be read.I press ok and continue and get the following error when it tries to draw the airplane:Running modelStart! (_temp.x)Loading X _temp.x...Non Normalized normal encountered in part frameNon Normalized normal encountered in part frameNon Normalized normal encountered in part frameNon Normalized normal encountered in part frameNon Normalized normal encountered in part frameNon Normalized normal encountered in part frameError!Error! As far as boolean... I actually thought of the "tool" naming issue. Still a no go for me. Not sure whats wrong here.It was so much easier in FSDS 2. I pushed a button and out it came. I hope I can get that kind of ease here. Let me know please.ThanksKeith
