Hello. I'm no panel designer, and I don't know how to fix this, so I guess asking a bunch of panel designers is my best option. Can anyone tell me what the heck is wrong with these gauges? This is a BEAUTIFUL bird, and a most excellent panel/virtual cockpit, but these gauges ruin it.Anyone that can tell me how to fix this, or can fix it, I will be eternally grateful to.broken!.jpgVirtualbroken!.jpgIt's an ATR-72 package off of AVSIM. It comes with a default Iberia paint, and I downloaded a LOT Polish Airlines paint for Star Alliance use. I really wany this to work... I'll find the file if anyone wants to examine it.I've also reinstalled the gauges. Thanks!Mike GoldPDT-700Piedmont VA COOwww.piedmontva.co.nr

Mike,In pic 1 some of the gauges are miss-aligned and some are over sized generally caused by the entry in you panel cfg file, see sample below.gauge00=737-400!OMI Lights, 121, 294, 17, 56gauge01=737-400!Airspeed, 255, 370, 135,135gauge02=737-400!RMI, 384, 362, 124, 149gauge03=737-400!Altimeter, 137, 395, 120,120gauge04=737-400!Vertical Speed, 41, 410, 99, 101gauge05=737-400!Clock, 140, 303, 99, 99the numbers after the gauge reference the gauge as to left/right up/down and size square or rectangular.Look at the ASI for instance. The background looks to be fine however the needle and B-pole are oversized for that gauge(as well as many others). You can post the contents of the panel cfg here cause it will be difficult other wise to say just by the pics what has caused this error. Some of the other stuff seems to be ok like simicons above the ADI and the engine instruments.Did you try to edit the original file?Douglas

What is the file name?It would be much easier to diagnose the problem if we knew which one you downloaded.I cannot believe for a moment that the author uploaded it in that condition, so whatever the problem is, it's probably a local machine issue. But, if those are XML gauges, it could just be a matter of sloppy coding that they won't resize properly to your monitor's resolution.I agree, the panel art is stunning!

I don't think changing the panel.cfg file will have much, if any, effect. I suggest that the original gauges are faulty. In many of them the needles are too big and thier centres of rotation are in the wrong place. If they are C gsuges then there's not much you can do about. If they're XML gauges then you could try changing the size of the needle bitmaps and change their centres of rotation in the .xml file.Alternatively as it's a free download you could just write off against experience.

""Probably fs2002 in fs9..?The "imagesizes" problem!""Yes, something related to.Those misaligned gauges are XML, and they have bmp of mixed sizes. For example, the Airspeed bg seems to be for 640 (size 128x128 instead of 256x256) but the needle and barber pole are scaled bigger, maybe for 1024. I guess there is no way to correct this other than rezising those off-scaled bmps.Tom

Well, is there any way to go about correcting these? Like I said earlier, I am no panel designer by a long shot.

The gauges were likely (poorly) coded to the FS2002 SDK, and now FS9 has no way to "automatically rescale and fix" the programmer's poorly written XML code. ;(

I'vve often thought the time should be taken to fix this panel for FS9 as the autopilot and engine management still work very well.Of course we have the excellent Flight1 ATR-72 but no ATR-42's

Maybe those of you that want to use this panel should ask the guy that made it to address the problem(s) if he can or has the time to do so. I also downloaded it to have a look but to me its not worth the time to adjust it. Jan suggested a size problem, not sure if that refers to the gauges or the main bitmap. I think that would be tru if all the gauges were messed up.Good luck,Douglas
