VC Night Lighting.

Recommended Posts

Hi all.Can anyone tell me how to get VC night lights working in Krzysztof Malinopwski's P-40? The VC does not light up in FS8 and FS9 at night. Any ideas as to whether I can get this going?Cheers,Matthew.

If the author did not set it up for night lighting, there's nothing you can do, aside from adding some .fx lighting via the aircraft.cfg file.

Hi Bill. Thanks for the reply. Suspected as much. What will the FX lighting do?, just create the external apprearence of a cockpit light I guess? I'm assuming it won't actually illuminate the cockpit when inside and piloting the aircraft.Cheers,Matthew.

You can place a white (or any color) .fx light (or 2 if you want) inside and they will "illuminate" the interior of the cockpit like a "dome light" in a car.

Hi Bill. Thanks for that. Yes, the VC light did the trick. I had one listed in the Aircraft CFG file in the first place, but it must have been placed in the wrong position such that the light could not be seen.Much appreciated. Cheers,Matthew.

Probably a dumb question Bill, but where do I find the eye point position? Cheers,Matthew.

>Probably a dumb question Bill, but where do I find the eye>point position? In the aircraft.cfg file under section... (uses square brackets instead of < and > though)... ;)eyepoint=15.1, -.880, 3.15 //RH //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical (feet)light.6=9, 15.1, -.880, 3.15, escj1_panelflood.fxlight.5=9, 15.1, .880, 3.15, escj1_panelflood.fxNote that my lights are the same as the pilot's eyeballs, and the (imaginary) copilot's eyeballs... ;)
