Hi, I am not sure if the e-mail function on the forums works, so will post here just in case :). I have been also trying to find a way to finish R. Probst's exclellent 732 panel, and am happily surprised to find out that work has been started on this very effort by others (you and your team). Since I have been also "dabbing" into continuing with this project, I wanted to offer my help (although limited :) ) in any area you guys might need help with. I have actually looked at an area that is often not looked at in Freeware packages, but think it is very important: Pilot Perspective and arrangement of instrumens. Macs, we are working in the Overhead panel for now.We are trying to finish first the overhead and then we'll be looking forward to enhance other areas of the great job of Richard Probst (kind of difficult due to his excellent job).I have Bob Scott working with me in this quest helping with the programming and another guy working with the artwork.It will be great to help Bob with the programming due to the complexity of the systems. We want to make this to work as close as possible to the real thing. I have the real 737-200 technical data for the systems from a Boeing's handbook.I think Bob will be very glad to have another hand helping him with the programming.Of course as I am through with the artwork I will help Bob with my poor programming.I already sent an email to Bob telling about your interest in helping us.I will keep you informed.Thank you for your interest in helping us to accomplish this task.We want to give the community who already gave us so many satisfactions a freeware panel that will be knockoff signed as an update to the original Richard Probst panel.I will keep you informed of how you can help.Thanks again.

There's a lot more you can do to get things in perspective than move the instruments to the center and lose 25% of the available screen area!Consider this approach, which works well with the TinMouse B732. Bias your forward view 10 degrees to the left, as in this screenie:http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-2/1151...erspective1.jpgThis is done in the TinMouse by setting VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=2.0, 0.0, 10.0 in the panel.cfg file.Sit to the left of center of your monitor, looking down the runway through the flight instruments. At first it feels like you're looking off to the left (because you're accustomed to always looking into the center of the monitor), but the flat depiction of the panel on the monitor will cooperate once you get the sense of perspective connected in your brain. Bob, Never really considered that; I'll give it a try.Regarding the loss of 25% of viewing area, I don't think it is that big of a deal if you can add pop-up panels with the other instruments not shown. I fly all the time whith DF's 727 and I find it works great even under relatively high workloads (heavy traffic on approach for example). I find it very convenient and easy to fly a properly placed panel perspective where information can be organized and presented by demand. If you are worried about opening windows and such, instead of the one pass eye-ball, you can also see that your attention has to be diverted to the overhead much of the time, so this takes opening up a different window anyway. Of course, I am talking about a 2D environment and not a VC. You can of course also separate the windows on multiple monitors if you have the capability.I would like to try both layouts (if it is alright with you guys,of course). I beleive I could manage this with n problem; The only thing missing for me with my proposed approach is a properly taken high-res picture of the captains side portion of a real panel. Maybe my configuration could be offered as an option?Thanks for looking at my suggestion :)regards,Macs :)

Bob, Emilio, I have to say, the panel is full of goodies, some never seen even in payware (such as the takeoff computer, for example). I also see that with the high quality radar bitmap, you could theoretically do a merge with RealityXP's Wx500! Awesome! :)Another nice additon to incorparate in 732 panel would be CIVA INS's. I know they coudl be incorporated individaully, but it would be nice to accomodate for them from the "get-go" :)I haven't written any code for panels, but, I would not think doing these features would involve more than tampering with the panel.cfg. May be wrong though. I will work some on these ideas during this week and present something by Friday. I have some training courses this week, so I'll try and fit in some time as I get it.I am very excited about this project as a properly made 732 has been missing for some time. Bob,I guess that you had noticed that the only problem in the mr. probst panel is that the main view have too many gauges and you may get confused.as Macs told, the best way if you take the project forward, is to switch some gauges to a pop-up window.(again) If you guys need an EPR formula for the -17 (the only chart that I have to make the formula) and a FDE to the /adv, contact me via e-mailomykronbr *at gmail dot comwould be great see a "joint venture" to take lead in works of the mr. probst panel.regardsGustavo
