Anyone tell me why this xml isn't working?

Recommended Posts

Hi. This is FS9, not FSX. I did mention that in one of the threads, but it's not all that evident, I admit. Sorry Bill if I wasn't clearer.I am fairly sure I left a space - I will check up a bit later today. In the end (as the goal of this exercise was to be able to bring up panels without having to enter shift+2, or whatever), I have just added a reference to simicons in the panel.cfg and added a little 'overhead' icon to the panel - and this works fine, I now get my overhead panel up at a single click. But that's not the point of course: I really want to be able to get this clickspot to work, not because I now need it, but because it is very frustrating not knowing why it doesn't!I'll post back a bit later. Thanks, meanwhile, for all the comments. I do appreciate you all taking time to help me out.Martin

Yes, I have the space. This what the xml file contains:250 (>K:PANEL_ID_TOGGLE)In the panel.cfg, this:gauge60=Overhead!Openoverhead, 10,500,50,50The gauge xml is called OpenOverhead.xml, in a folder called Overhead, located in the main FS9 gauges folder.Ident=250 showing in the overhead panel's window section in the panel.cfgI can see nothing wrong. No clickspot in the a/c though. You reckon I should give up?Martin

Martin,If you don't have a bitmap for a gauge, you need to specify it's size.Try this:250 (>K:pANEL_ID_TOGGLE)Tom

I have tried with the bitmap there too, but it didn't make any difference to whether I got a clickspot or not

Martin hi,You wrote:In the panel.cfg, this:gauge60=Overhead!Openoverhead, 10,500,50,50The gauge xml is called OpenOverhead.xml, in a folder called Overhead, located in the main FS9 gauges folder. The gauge file name seems to have a cap O for Overhead whereas the panel cfg file is looking for one with a lower case "o" (as in Openoverhead).Maybe that's the issue.
