Am I Using FS Sky World Correctly?

Recommended Posts

Greetings everyone,Finally got around to installing FS Sky World yesterday and wanted an opinion on whether I was using it correctly or not.I have all the cloud sets installed in the FS2002 texture directory as instructed. What I've been doing then is starting up the sim, then starting up Sky World. I select auto-random and ensure that all cloud sets are checked and then set the timer to around ten minutes or so.I'm then minimizing Sky World and starting up FSMeteo. After all that is running I'm off for the wild blue yonder. I'm getting some great weather changes as I fly with FSMeteo but I don't think I'm really getting any cloud variation that I've noticed. Should I be doing something a little differently in how I run this stuff?MikeKPHX

Hi, "What I've been doing then is starting up the sim, then starting up Sky World. I select auto-random and ensure that all cloud sets are checked and then set the timer to around ten minutes or so."You should start fs2002 from fs sky world:#1 Run fs sky world#2 Auto Random enable min#3 Press Inst&Run Fs button (this will start fs2002 and auto random)Select auto random min than press Inst&Run Fs button if you don't do thats you will not have the auto random. All question hereFS SKY WORLD Helphttp://fsw.simflight.com/FSWFskHelpMenu.html Quick Help if still not works: #1 install fs sky world v1.0 in the main fs2002 folder , after update to v1.10 , only overwrite the *.exe, do no unnistall v1.0 http://fsw.simflight.com/FSWFs2k2FsSkyWorld2002.html #2 Install the clouds pack for fs sky world in he main fs2002 folder http://fsw.simflight.com/FSWFs2k2FskCld.html #3 be sure you have the *.dll http://fsw.simflight.com/FSWInstallationAndError.html #4 Be sure your attribute are in archive, not read only, for fs2002 and texture/fs sky world 2002/ all sub folder also in archive. right mouse click button on folder/ than enable archive onlyThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Hi, If you only use one single cloud pack files, no need fs sky world, fsw clouds will appears in fs2k2, but you will not have the auto random with all clouds pack etc.. If you are using fs sky world by using the sky button/install button, you can close fs sky world before starting fs2k2 with the original fs2k2 shorcuts. (no random here, only one clouds pack installed)You can use fsw single cloud pack set from your choice works alone( no need fs sky world)Unzip to an empty folder firstCopy the clouds cld1-10.bmp, cldcn 1-10.bmp, texture in fs2002/texturehttp://fsw.simflight.com/FSWFs2k2Clouds.htmlIf you want the auto random, yes you should:#1 Run fs sky world#2 Auto Random enable min#3 Press Inst&Run Fs button (this will start fs2002 and auto random)#4 Never close fs sky worldThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

I have a couple of questions --Does the random function drop in random cloud sets, or random individual clouds from all the sets? This may sound kind of silly, but can you use the Splash Screen Randomizer if you start FS from FS Sky World?

Hi, "Does the random function drop in random cloud sets, or random individual clouds from all the sets?"it's copy the bmp set thats are including in each folder in fs2002/texture/fs sky world 2002 they copy in fs2002/texture.You can add all bmp thats you want in each single folder thats are used in fs2002/texture, moon, sun runways lights, autogen texture cumulus, thunderstorm and high level clouds, all texture used in fs2002/texture can be used. juste desable the non wanted random texture set.you can add your new set also with your folder and picture. With the update v1.10 already released you can chose texture Set thats will be including in the Auto Random list selection"This may sound kind of silly, but can you use the Splash Screen Randomizer if you start FS from FS Sky World? "No, but the our next version fs sky world, is already including unlimited Splash Screen Randomizer with original thunderstorm sound.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

You can also check that it is working properly by looking with Explorer at the date/time on one of the cloud files in the texture folder: after SkyWorld has made its random switch, refresh (F5) the folder listing and you will see the cloud file date/time has changed.I found this a useful check, because some of the cloud types look quite similar and the changes aren't always immediately obvious.

Hi, "I found this a useful check, because some of the cloud types look quite similar and the changes aren't always immediately obvious."To reduce this, you can desable clouds set in auto random option v1.10 thats you don't want to see in the randomize, some "similar" clouds are in real edge series, all others are differents.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg
