Drawing Transparent GDI+ Gauges: MS/ACES Article

Recommended Posts

One of the major benefits of the new ESP platform is the fact that MS/ACES are committed to providing direct support. This is one example of this in action...This article describes in detail (with example code) how to draw GDI+ gauges, including fully TRANSPARENT gauges (think HUD!)...http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/ESPDrawingGaugesGDI

Transparent GDI+ was already discussed in Susan's blog long before ESP was released. ;)

>Transparent GDI+ was already discussed in Susan's blog long>before ESP was released. ;)Discussed? Yes.Explained with working examples? No.It may be a distinction without a difference to experts, but for us more pedestrian types, having a well described example is a blessing! ;)

For your information, transparent GDI+ vector graphics can be done since FS2004 was released. Look at the HUDs developed by SimScape (www.simscape.fr), they work for fs9 and FSX. The Lecgacy by FeelThere also has a GDI+ based HUD, and I have also developed one for the A380 (it may be released one day).We didn't wait for Susan's explanations for GDI+ transparent graphics ;-) Eric
