Anyone use CH Rudder Pedals?

I never thought I needed rudder pedals until I downloaded FSMeteo and experienced the winds. Now when I try to land I have a nice cross wind to contend with. I have the CH USB Pro Yoke but not the rudder pedals. Can anyone enlighten me on the differences of the three models? The website doesn

I think the only real option is to go with the more expensive CH Products Pro Pedals USB. The Pro Pedals USB have working toe brakes which really adds realism to taxiing. The other pedals need a gameport to work, and one of them has a second gameport cable that was supposed to support brakes in the future. Unfortunately this never materialized. There are instructions out there somewhere on how to hack the older pedals to make the brakes work with a gameport-USB adapter or something. Better to avoid the hassle and just go with the Pro Pedals USB.Jason

Steve: Yes, the USB is the way to go. If you want to fly any tail dragers, you will need the rudder pedals. For that matter, the only aeroplane I ever flew that diden't have rudder pedals, was the Aerocoupe.Denny

Thanks Joe, and yes I did miss that last post - my bad.I already have the control yoke and really enjoy it.I am surprised how few responded to my posts - do most people not have rudder pedals? I figured that I was in the minority - guess not. How do most people land in crosswinds using the control yoke only? Hmmm.Thanks again,Steve

Steve I use the ch pro pedals. mine are not usb and my yoke is usb works great. I have toe brakes and to be honest with you I love them it makes it so much more real for me. If you go usb or game port they both work great. Sam

If you've never used pedals before, expect a week or two of practice to get used to flying with your feet. Once you get the hang of it you'll be milking the crosswind landings left and right! :) I'm amazed at how much better my approaches have become since I purchased my pedals. I'll second Joe's recommendation for Cruxworks... I received my pedals in two days, and that was with standard shipping.Paul

CH USB Rudder Pedals here, coupled with the CH USB Pro Yoke. When they work they are great, but they seem to be OS sensitive. Win98SE gives me trouble free operation. WinME gives me trouble free operation, but only after I pull and replace the USB connector to get them to work after a fresh boot - otherwise they do not respond at all. WinXP boots fine, but the calibration drifts while flying and sometimes unexpectedly locks hard rudder left/right.As you can guess, I stick with Win98SE to play flightsims.Gary

CH pedals and Sidewinder ...No problem. Just remember to de-assign the sidewinder rudder axis in Options-Assignments menu.ABout the sidewinder rudder not having any effect:1. Is the rudder assigned to the rudder axis in FS2K2 ?2. Did you uncheck the "auto-rudder" checkbox in the Aircraft-Realise menu ?Rob
