Does anyone know a good source for airport photos?

I'm specifically looking for an aerial shot of KRDU (Raleigh-Durham NC). I would also take details of the terminals. Both would be great. Thanks

I found this neat freeware called USAPhotoMaps that downloads U.S.Geological Survey aerial photos from http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/ (available at no charge, courtesy of Microsoft) and creates a contiguous map from them. You can get it at http://jdmcox.com/ . The only challenge then is to colorize them as they are black and white. You can zoom to specific levels such as 1 meter per pixel, 2 meters per pixel, etc. Combine that with the coordinates for airports that you can get from http://www.airnav.com/ and you have an effective combination for grabbing images of airports. Hope this helps.

Also check http://www.airliners.net.I did a quick search on KRDU, and it returned 214 photographs. For me, this has been the best site for gettting the correct building textures (other than actually visiting the site).Allen

How do you search for airports at airliners.net? I only see searches for airplanes or airlines.Pete

Are you working on a scenery for the RDU area? The default scenery only shows one terminal. I would love to have the entire airport with both terminals, maybe even gates....Please let me know if you upload anything. Thanks!

I would like to do a very detailed RDU. The only problem is that I have never designed scenery, but I'm trying. In the meantime download a file called 27airports (or something like that). It fixes a lot of places including RDU, CLT, and GSO. It's really good, but needs just a little more accuracy (at least at RDU). But at least it adds both terminals (and some gates).
