Import SCASM XZY points on FSDS

Recommended Posts

Guest Cazador

Dear All:I want to update my all ASD2.1 mountains importing the mountain points from the SCASM source code generated by ASD in the format XZY using FSDS.Is there a plugin or way to import SCASm XZY point into FSDS to get the points and make the mauntains with FSDS.The mountains generated by ASD2.1 are not compatible with FS2002, they apper like white mountains at certain angles.Thanks.Alfredo Mendiola LoyolaLima Peru

interesting challenge, I don't know how this would be done, but since both programs generate scasm, what do you gain with this import?B

I think you can better use a mesh scenery to make mountains. Only for small hills on or close to the airport I think it makes sense to use a 3D object as a mountain. But I don't think that there is an easy way to import the code, maybe there is a FSDS plugin that can help you, but I don't know one.ArnoMember NL2000 Teamhttp://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen

Dear Arno:If you wish i can send you the SCASM source code with the mountains to solve the problem.I think that the problem is in the old SCASM commands used by ASD2.1, i have created the same mountain with FSDS and i works.Thanks.Alfredo Mendiola LoyolaLima Peru

Alfredo,If you really need the mountains made with ASD (an alternative is mesh) I think that manual editing of SCASM generated by ASD can help. The mountain faces do not match OK. One way to get a perfect match is to replace the TexPoly()s by Poly()s. You will need to insert a RepeatBitmap() before each Poly(). If you send me (luis@ptsim.com) a single "one peak mountain with 4 sides on the base" as an example, I will edit the code.Regards, Luis
