Help needed in regards to FX SDK

G'day everyoneJust wondering whether anyone had a fix to a problem I (and a few others) have encountered while working with the FX SDK tools. In placing an effect into the FS world using BGLplacer.exe and BGLC.exe, I have found that BGLC.exe will not convert the .csv file generated in BGLplacer if I have stipulated any co-ordinates in the southern hemisphere. Everything else is fine, but if i put a "S.--* --.--" into the lat/long, it will not generate a BGL.Does anyone know a way of overcoming this?? Thanks for any helpCheersJarrad

Joe,Perhaps no one has tried to place special effects in the southern hemisphere. I for one just started to use the tool today. Had it sitting in the special effects SDK directories on my system for months and never got around to messing with it. Think I will try to place an object to see if it bombs on my system also. cheers :-)George B.

G'day George,Thanks for the reply mate. I know a kiwi fella (not christian) got it to work, but unfortunately I haven't heard back from him about how to do it. The problem for me happens when you try and run the .csv file through BGLC.exe - it gives a file error message, and you can't get it to spit out the .bglHear from ya soon,Jarrad

I haven't tried this, but try to do it through SCASM. They have a GObj command that also allows you to place an effect. See my website (link below) for some more details (SCASM tips section).You could easily make an macro of your effect that way and place it where you want.Arno
