Marathon Airport

Recommended Posts

Hello All,I am close to finishing marathon airport in the florida keys. I have removed the default buildings, and started from scratch. I have also added AI traffic. My mission is to bring some life to the somewhat forgotten smaller airports. To see some screen shots go to [a href=http://www.simuscene.com]www.simuscene.com[/a].EnjoyJohn

Hello John,This is good news and a great way to begin your posts.I myself am working on ground textures for the Keys based on aerial images. For the moment, the project is centered on Key West, but will slowly move north. No time frame yet.Best regards.Luis

Hi John, Took a look at Simuscene and am looking forward to its release. :-)In case you may want to land a seaplane near the Marathon airport, I've made a scenery to accomodate the wet types. ;-) There are four seaplane sites from KMTH, MYBS, MYAK, and MYMM to give a nice island hopping experience in the Caribbean. I'm no expert, but it does add to the area. lol Here's the download link if interested.http://ftp.avsim.com/library/sendfile.php?DownloadID=15871Best regards, RobKMTH --- TDS Seaplane Service http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d2a7d16760493a9.jpg

http://avsim.com/flightdeck/images/Radar_small.gifBeta tester for http://www.jdtllc.com' target="_blank">Radar Contact] the premier ATC adventure add-on for FS

Hey RobGlad to hear that you like the preview screenshots. The scenery should add some life to a once deserted airport. Like I mentioned in my original post, I plan on working on the smaller airports in FS. Being that I only fly GA aircraft, I really dont have any need for the bigger ones. Plus I am not good enough at scenery design at this point to tackle something like JFK. But enough rambling. I have one question about your seaplane scenery. Is it frame rate friendly. If so I would love to include it in my scenery. Thanks and have a good oneJohn

John, Good question....hard answer! :-) All depends I guess. Works fine for me with an AMD 1.4 machine w/GForce2 vid 64 MB. I do try to limit the visibility of smaller objects so they don't load up when not in sight. Suppose you'll just hafta toss it in and take a look, just like I'll do when your Marathon is finished. Like you I hope they both work together. :-) The direct d/l link is in my earlier post.Enjoy, Rob

http://avsim.com/flightdeck/images/Radar_small.gifBeta tester for http://www.jdtllc.com' target="_blank">Radar Contact] the premier ATC adventure add-on for FS
