Wierd Taxi Lines Problem

Recommended Posts

Guest

I have layed down a taxi line using the newest version of Airport and there are visibility issues with it. The line is drawn on top of a polygon. The problem is that when I approach either end of the taxiway the line disappears. If I slew 180 degrees I can see the line behind me. But if I am anywhere near the ends of the line, it is gone. I hope I am explaining this OK. I have tried different layering to no effect. I have also tried to lay the taxi line on top of a Taxiway made with the Taxi/Road menu. The same problem still occured. Has anyone seen this or experienced this? Thanks.

Try to remove the Monitor3D command that Airport adds to the source. I think it is not necesairy and after removing it I got my test scenery to work fine.Arno

The new version of Airport supposedly takes the Monitor3D out of the source automatically. I looked anyway and it was indeed not there. So is there another remedy? I don't understand why this line disappears when you get to a certain point near the ends...about 70 meters. It appears entirely when looking down on it from top-down view.

Yep I see, it is gone. I had a setting standing wrong from another test :).Maybe it is a problem with the v2 value. Try to increase that (or calculate it) and see if that helps.Arno

Arno... I've cured some taxilines visibility problems by increasing the value for V2 appreciably. On the instances I've checked, the V2 value in Apt26 was defaulting to 833 meters. Depending on the location of the RefPt with respect to the end to end span of taxilines, This may be too small, especially on taxiways for fairly long runways. Also, I think the default scale for the lines is at 0.5 now which will probably further aggrivate that problem. The 0.5 scale seems required though to match the width of the default FS2002 lines. Anyway, increasing V2 seems to fix it.BTW, Apt26 uses the SCASM "Set(" opcode to do a Setversion routine which can allow "weeding-out" some of the obsolete for FS2002 commands like Monitor3D (which you've noticed has been left out of the later release).BTW, I'm still frantically looking for that "Minutes" or even an "Hour" variable. I can do Days & Years (38A & 38C) but still haven't found hours or minutes :-)...J.R.
