New style of Apron lights, which reflects onto a/c

Featured Replies

I'm just wondering if anyone with suitable GMAX skills could create a light for an apron, casting down a beam of light that reflects onto an a/c which is taxiing into it's parking bay.I'm wondering if this would work.It would solve those old days of lit apron concrete, and a black a/c body. Will

hmmmmi dont think its possible the way you discribe it. ive had minimal luck with self illuminated textures that reflect to the surroundings but it was very dim, and was with a red light.im texturing my terminal now so ill experiment and see what happens.odog

As far as I know it is not possible. I have made a light with the GMax light commands and these only illuminate the apron, not the a/c that is in the light beam.I think it is a limitation of the sim and can not be solved,Arno

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

Ok gurus I say it right at the beginning. I don't have the faintest idea of scenery design but: I assume you know this lil' program which let's you put an *.fx file into a scenery. Further you know e. g. the NAV light and beacons are lighting up the aircraft body. So my train of thought is: modify an existing white navigation light to be very strong. Then put it into the scenery and see what happens.Just a thought... :-) But maybe it helps (I hope!)!http://flightsimmers.net/airport/etti/signature_pro.jpg

Yer mate I dont think that would work either - it would be the same as having a very strong landing light on an aircraft. A way to show this is to taxi a default plane up to the side of another (AI) plane at night time with lights on - your landing lights will illuminate the ground, but not the aircraft. As arno said, I think its a limitation of the FS2002 scenery engineCheersJarrad

I tried to place some of those fx lights, but I never get a beam. I only get a dot at the place I place it. So I think these effects are for a/c and not for scenery.Arno

That sure is a pitty. Maybe it might be worth while to send the makers of GMAX an email asking if they could possibly add this type of thing to their design program, as they seem to release an update once every so often?ThanksWill

I don't think the problem is GMax, it's the exporter from M$. And I don't think sending a mail to M$ will have any result......Arno
