What is BGLC

Recommended Posts

BGLC (BGLCompiler) is the scenery compiler used by Microsoft vice SCASM. It compiles the scenery source code into the *.bgl file format.

Hi badderjet. The newest BGLC is in the effects SDK. It is an enhancement of Microsoft's MASM assembly language compiler, geared towards flight simulator. The documentation is actually in the FS2000 Scenery SDK. The newer TMF techniques don't require much BGLC coding knowledge... mostly cut and paste of the code, and learning to place the flattens, decals, etc... within a grid defined by LOD8 spans ( sub-divided by LOD13 spans ). 'georgio' has created a TMF calculator for fsregen that takes the pain out of much of the placing. He has also been working to include a Gmax to BGL interface in fsregen, which may be the way of the future for TMF production.
