Changing the color of the water

Featured Replies

I'm doing several square miles of photoreal scenery, with at least a hundred ponds and lakes all through it. My problem is that the water shows up much too bright and blueish. The water in the area I'm modeling (Central New York State) is much darker and greener. How do I change the color of the water? Thanks, Glidiator

Well, I could make a guess but based on some experience. Using the Gmax program for their little house it occured to me that I could maybe put an address on my house just for the fun of it. Geez, I put the .bmp into my photoshop program and voila. Since I would assume water uses some kind of .bmp graphics, wouldn't changing the color on your source file be a logical step??RayPS Where is central New York? I think its either upstate or downstate but I would assume you want to change the colors of the finger lakes?

Yeah, I could just change the texture file, but that would change the color of all the water that used that texture file, everywhere in the world, and I just want to change the central New York area water. Central New York is Upstate, and I do want to change change the finger lakes, but they are secondary in importantce. Mainly I want to change the color of many small lakes and ponds, and the Chemung River as well that I've done with photoreal textures about 20 miles south of Seneca Lake.
