Bumpy LWM?

Recommended Posts

Guest

I have moved the shorelines and roads in my scenery, but I'm getting some not so good results. The LWM makes squares and when I try to place roads where I have moved the land it looks very bumpy :-(Is there any way around this or do I need to move the roads ?

Yes, this is remeshed land.I have not changed this value TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=19, what should it be?

Hi knnygar. It should stay at 19! Moving it up to 21, as some mesh makers would like really messes up the terrain in remeshed areas.Something you might try:Right on the roadline, you could make 2 point transparent flattens. The problem is the road slopes, so the flatten "lines' would need to be 'stepped' with small elevation changes. It's too bad MS did not leave us a way to return to the default mesh, after a flatten is used. Hopefully in FS2004 ( and hopefully they will not use the awful terrain engine of CFS3! ).Dick

I'm still having trouble with LWM flatten. At sealevel its no problem, but at the border between LWM and mesh I'm not getting the result I want :-(I'm working on it though so I hope I will get it to work. The next version will have most of the buildings and roads placed correctly, but this takes time so I cant promise a new version before sometime next year.
