Hi JeffThanks for your quick and kind answer. What I mean is : how do I create a .cdt file; all templates I can load are FSDS exemple and they are all .cdt files; I am working on a macro of a catamaran shim and I have all the plans (drawings); I would like to create a template I could load in FSDS. Not sure I have been clear!! :) sorry and thanks again Christian. Paris. France

If you open a cdt file (I think there is an example with the program), you will see it is just a simple texture file with a list of points. I ussually make them in notepad when I need them, just write the list of points there.Another option is of course to load your plans as background image in FSDS and then just draw the template, but I prefer the notepad way as I have more control over the exact value of the coordinates then.Hope this helps,Arno

What do you get then when you open the file in Notepad? I don't expect that they have changed the file format.Just start NotePad, select Open en choose the cdt file. It should always open then (might only look strange if it is not an ASCII file).Arno

Gday mate, as arno mentioned , i think it is more efficient to use the background image to build your models .go to http://www.daviator.com/ for some excellent tutorials on how to do this.i find it more efficient than the template way to construct models as you allso tend to keep the poly cont down.look for the design tutorials link, as there is a good one for scaling your background image and shaping and working with cross sectionsrgds Jeff
