Good Aviation Joke (IMO)!

This one had me laughing for a while.Pilots flying heavy iron are sometimes known for their lighthearted jibes at pilots of smaller aircraft. One day at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, an A-340 was in linefor departure behind a Fokker F-28, an aircraft that has a tail that splits to act as a large speedbrake. The Airbus captain was heard on the radio, making some comment about the "cute little plane" in front of him and boasting about the brand new jumbo he was flying. In response, the Fokker's fuselage speed brakes opened wide, and overthe radio a very loud, "Pbbbbbbbt!" was heard."I do believe we've been mooned!" said the A-340 first officer to hisCaptain. Take careMike

Hehe! - good one. http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smi.../magbiggrin.gifHere's one I found:ZK-ABC: "Wellington tower, this is Alpha Bravo Charlie. Could you turn the runway lights on please?" WN TWR: "Alpha Bravo Charlie, this is Wellington Tower, the Airport is closed by fog, you cannot land over." ZK-ABC: "Wellington Tower, this is Alpha Bravo Charlie, I have landed, but I can't find the Hangar over."

:-lol Here is one that I found earlier, apparently a true story:A Huey Cobra practicing autorotations during a military night training exercise had a problem and landed on the tail rotor, separating the tail boom. Fortunately, it wound up on its skids, sliding down the runway doing 360s in a brilliant shower of sparks. As the Cobra passed the tower, the following exchange was overheard:Tower: Sir, do you need any assistance?Cobra: I don't know, tower. We ain't done crashin' yet! Takec careMike

hehe, nice one guys!! Frank, I train at Wellington (well, DID until $$$ became a problem), and myself and the instructor had that happen to us! Weather closed rapidly (in true NZWN style), and we went IFR...the tower closed the airport, but had cleared us to land because it would've meant diverting to Paraparumu. After landing (nice ILS landing by the man :-)), we taxied over to the parking, and after tieing the Skipper down, we went inside and could see the fog still closing in....rang up Paraparaumu, and they were closed, so if we had to divert, we would've had to go down to the South Island!!http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/edenw/fs_banner_je1.jpg Think highly of yourself, for the world takes you at your estimate -Anon

In America the ATC tower doesn't have the authority to close the airport, only the airport manager does. Not sure how it works in your part of the world though...mw
