Using AI aircrafts as static aircrafts

Recommended Posts

Guest

HiI'm currently creating a new scenery and want to place some aircrafts there. I don't want to amek them flying around. The yjust should sit around in a corner of the airport not doing anything (so no Flightplan needed). Can I use the PAI aircrafts for this?? DO I have to go through all these AI softwares or is there an easier way of putting the PAI (or FSPainter) planes into scenerys?Any help is appreciated :-)Thanks & regardsMario :-)

Mario,I don't think you're gonna have much luck other than to modify the traffic.bgl file with AFCAD and TTools. If you are just doing this for yourself then it's no big deal. But if it is for something you want to make avalible to others you should probably either use macros from Airport for Windows or something similar. If you want to make your own gWax aircraft, have a look at this:http://www.oregon-coast.net/FS2002/static/static_1.htmYou also might try writing to the authors of the aircraft you want to use in your scenery and ask them if they would allow you to use a simplified version of their source file to compile bgl files of there aircraft. Be sure and stress that proper credit would be given.

C'mon Mario! Now how many aircraft just sit there for ever without moving in real life!Best thing if you want them to more or less stay there most of the time is to do 1 flight on a weekly flight plan - then they park for the rest of the week. If you 'radius' em, they will always return to the correct parking place(s).Much better solution - then you don't have a 'dead' airport. After all, that was the whole purpose of AI in FS2002. Otherwise might just as well stay with earlier versions!;-)RogerPS I know it means you'll be providing more than just a simple scenery package but people are quite happy to install scenery + AFCAD file + TTools file addon

Mario,You can try using - mdlbgl4 - http://www.avsim.com/hangar/utils/mdltobgl/ or mdldisas - http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/tdestig/id17.htm .I don't recommend using static aircraft since most people downloading your scenery are going to ask, "Is there any way to get rid of the static aircraft taking up valuable airport space?". I do recommend using AI flightplans that only move those aircraft sporatically or at times that individuals wouldn't be using the flightsim.

>I don't recommend using static aircraft since most people >downloading your scenery are going to ask, "Is there any way >to get rid of the static aircraft taking up valuable airport >space?". This exactly my question! I downloaded "Greg schmidtz" "KOAK" gates. They include nice JETWAYS, which what I really want. The problem is now I have several aircraft located where I do not wnat them. When I open up the airport in AFCAD, I only see the parking spots I MADE prior to loading the KOAK gates. How can I get ride of these aircraft?

You can best ask that to the author of the scenery. He can best tell you in which files the statics are and if it is possible to remove them.Arno
