Hi Bert,I have bought a book that explains the principles of 3DMax 4. Because the way of think is the same as for GMax I found that book useful. Can't remember the complete title, but it is somethink like "Snelgids 3DMax 4".Arno

I found the exact title of my book:3DS Max 4 voor WindowsIt's in Dutch (I don't think that's a problem for Bert) and as the origional book was in English, I guess it should be available in more languages. Here is a link to the info about the book from online store where I got it from:http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enf..._BOL_OWNER_ID=1(should be one piece this link)Arno

Question.I have the following books on MAX. How helpful do you think they will be? I have not installed GMAX, and BTW, are there any updates via link, or is the default install on my PRO CD the only place to get GMAX's latest version.ISBN 0201353504 3D Studio MAX 3 visual quick start by michele matossian - Peachpit pressISBN 1562058835 3D Studio MAX 2 EFFECTS Magic by Greg Carbonaro - New RidersISBN 0735700508 3D Studio MAX 3 Media Animation by John P Chrismar - New RidersI had planned to sell these, but now I think they be come in handy! Any comments?

I think especially the first one you mention can be handy. I think the other two deal with things that are two complex (and not useful) for GMax and MAkeMDL because they don't support them. The first book sounds like a good overview to understand the principles of the program. I think it's by the same author as the book I have :).Arno

Arno,Thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it. I was planning to sell the lot of animation books I have and then I thought about how they may help with GMAX.
