API problems

Recommended Posts

Guest hefy_jefy

I now have a number of API macros, some I put togther myself with Gmax and Fsregen and some I downloaded.I suppose I am getting a litle more fussy, but there are a number of (minor) problems that I would like to fix:1. No crashing, I can't crash into API objects, I can if I just export the same object directly from Gmax, Fsregen seems to remove the crash property. Is there a way to recover this?2. I have several static aircraft that I downloaded that have no shadows. Is there a way to make the shadows work? they look a little strange without. Objects that I make in Gmax, and then convert with Fsregen do have shadows.3. APIs that have bases (or floors in the case of a hanger with a door) suffer from the flashing ground polygon problem, I know how to fix this for a "normal" ground poly by using a layer, but how to do this with a 3D API?Any help is much appreciated,BTW I use Groundmaker for placing the APIs Geoff

That is correct. There has been a discussion here some time ago how to get the crash detection back. If you search back on the forum I think you'll find that one.>2. Objects that I make in >Gmax, and then convert with Fsregen do have shadows.Probably those objects have no ShadowCall in their macro then. You can add this yourself.>3. Best thing is to put these polygons in a seperate part of the macro with a layercall. I am planning to write a little how-to about this soon.Arno

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.
