Possible to extract objects?

Recommended Posts

Hello,Is it possible to extract objects out of a .bgl file for use in scenery of other areas, and editing to make something better for personal use?

Why wouldn't you just exclude the offending object, and then place your own improved model at the location?Extracting someone else's work from a bgl is certainly possible, but it would be unlikely you would find it easier to hack this work, than to simply make your own from scratch. Many times designers are more than willing to share code or source with a fellow designer.... so why be concerned about "extracting"? Just contact the original designer.Dick

Hello,Thank you for your reply! I will and have already contacted authors, however, I am more curious as to how the structure of a .bgl file is compiled, which is why I asked the question! With this said, I would still like to know the answer to this if someone has any ideas! Thanks for any help... :)

As Dick already said it is very difficult to extract an object and then use it afterwards in another scenery. You can decompile a BGL, but to make changes in that code afterwards you need to know quite a lot of SCASM code to understand what code does what.
