Pylons, High Tension power

Recommended Posts

Guest JoeW

I'm using FSDS v1.6 to do some Power pylons and have constructed them from tubes that are displayed as lines. Also am using a cube thats 30 feet x 3000 feet x .01 feet to display the curve of the wires. Question #1.... How can I get diagonal bracing in the open areas of the structure?Question #2..... The wires bmp's display but they kind-of disappear about 400 or 500 feet from the structure.ThanksJoe W.

Hi JoeFrom my experience and from future tasks I need to achieve with Transmitter masts, the easier way is to use transparent textures to a solid structure to create diagonal and girder type framework found in these type structuresAs to question 2, a screenshot may help, but it could be due to several reasons, but proberly the code which places your Wire.bmp's needs to be pasted in the threadhopefully other people on the forum may be able to spread more light on your requestsI always try to provide as much info as possibleHope I understand your needsRegardsDave

Thanks..... I think I answered my #2 question my self. I made the cube for the wires solid black and checked the transpariences button and then in the textures properties area I unchecked the smoothing button. I think this fixed the disappearing texture of the wires. The diagonals in the structure I don't think that anyone is going to notice.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/17760.jpgI made the wires for this screen shot red so they can be seen. Thanks.Joe W.
