Reflective Textures on Buildings

Recommended Posts

Guest Mike707

With the use of reflective textures on aircraft, I am wondering if any buildings have been created with reflective textures. These textures seem to provide a good sense of realism for aircraft and was wondering if it would do the same for buildings. Screenshots would be nice if anyone has done this. Thanks all.

Yes, it's possible to add reflective textures to an scenery object. At least one man has done it.

Maybe it is then possible to manually change the API produced by FSDS V2.x (with export to FS2002 option on). I think all YOu need to do is to change the first number in texture list from 256 to 512 as this is the aircraft reflective texture. But please, I haven't tried it yet!Best regards,Goran BrumenFS Slovenija 2002 teamhttp://slovenia.avsim.net

I think that should work, you need to add a subtexture in the texture list and give this the value for reflective texture (that is 512 or 200h indeed). This will only work if you change the texture type of the normal texture from building (6) to aircraft (1).So if you origional texturelist looks like this:[tt]TextureList( 06 FF 255 255 255 0 20.000000 "TxF104.bmp")[/tt]Then the new one should look like this:[tt]TextureList( 01 FF 255 255 255 0 20.000000 "TxF104.bmp"512 FF 255 255 255 0 20.000000 "TxF104.bmp")[/tt]I haven't tested this, but the code is the same as the one GMax makes, so I assume it should work :).

Hi,Yes you can create buildings with reflective textures. With FSDSv2.11 you can generate BGLs directly. For APIs or SCASM source, you need some editiging as explained here:http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=10498&page=I did not test FSDSv2.20 yet. For screenshots this one has reflective glasses:http://www.ptsim.com/madeira/mad804.jpgHowever, unless you set your windows as stainless steel, you only see something when you move/slew sideways in front of the windows.Regards, Luis
