Wow, this really is tedious... please tell me there is a way to refresh the scenery w/o restarting the sim. 2k4 tab does nothing AFAICTjoe

There seems to be no other way then restart Fs2004. But that doesn't take that long does it? When I have just closed it and then restart it again it loads rather fast. We just need to get used to it I guess.

hi Arno, no, its just new...Here's what I did to save some miles on my cd drive.I saved my working area as a flight, then choose a new flight in a different area. Then, choose your saved flight and your changes are visible.I dont mind the time it takes really, its more wear and tear that concerns me. (as if it really would matter)joe

Yes, this is what I do (I did the same in Fs2002 btw).I have told FS to start up with the "Previous flight" as default flight. This flight saves where you are in FS when you quit. So the next time I start I return where I left. This is very easy for testing, because you don't have to select the airport every time etc. Also I have turned off the menu at startup, so I go directly to the position where I left on startup.

Depending upon what you're designing, most, if not all, of the work can be done within FS2K2. Once you have it the way you want it, try it in FS2K4....any tweaks can then be made for that version as required.

Some other notes about testing scenery...I save a flight in a default aircraft at the location I am modding. The weather is set to "clear".I turn the AI aircraft off, at least at the early stages. Later, when I have an AFCAD ready, I turn it back on.Whenever I load up FS to test scenery, I spend some time and make notes about what I want to change. Then I exit, make ALL the changes, and then test again. The next time I load up FS, I make sure to check all the changes within the sim. This saves time over fixing one thing at a time.
