Excluding default buildings in FS2004

Recommended Posts

Guest df0132

Hi allI am trying to remove the default buildings in order to place custom made ones in their place in FS2004.I use the old technique of editing the scenery.cfg file by hand...and have no problem removing buildings in one area. But the problem is that I have to remove buildings on both sides of the runway but I want to keep the default runway and taxiways....for some reason I can't get the second exclude area to remove the buildings....here is the exclude file that works...Exclude=S16 52.27,E145 45.13,S16 52.63,E145 45.41,objectsHow would I include this further exclude area..??S16 53.14,E145 45.02,S16 53.21,E145 45.08regardsdaryl

Hi BobWell, thanks for the direction...on reading some of the posts I found exactly what I was looking for, and thought my problems were solved.-alas-for several hours I tried to get it to work.The results I got were:It removed nothing...It removed the entire airport...including the buildings I put in.I understand what you meant about having the header covering the excludes, ( i think) but I am not sure if was doing it correctly, so I changed it back and if its not too much trouble, can you have a look below to see what I am doing wrongHeader( 1 -16:51:87 -16:53:41 145:45:64 145:44:49 )Exclude( 01 -16:52:82 -16:52:85 145:44:79 145:44:75 )Exclude( 01 -16:52:86 -16:52:89 145:44:80 145:44:77 )Exclude( 01 -16:52:88 -16:52:91 145:44:85 145:44:82 )Exclude( 01 -16:52:86 -16:52:89 145:44:93 145:44:89 )Exclude( 01 -16:52:89 -16:52:93 145:44:95 145:44:91 )Exclude( 01 -16:53:00 -16:53:00 145:44:97 145:44:96 )Exclude( 01 -16:53:01 -16:53:04 145:45:00 145:44:96 )Exclude( 01 -16:53:05 -16:53:07 145:44:97 145:44:94 )Exclude( 01 -16:53:09 -16:53:11 145:45:01 145:44:98 )Exclude( 01 -16:53:15 -16:53:20 145:45:08 145:45:02 )Exclude( 01 -16:52:79 -16:53:08 145:45:64 145:45:03 )Exclude( 01 -16:53:15 -16:53:41 145:45:63 145:45:17 )Exclude( 01 -16:51:87 -16:52:29 145:44:92 145:44:49 )" EXTREMELY " grateful for any assistance.regardsdaryl

It appears you've written your file correctly, excepting the decimals Dick noticed. you say that the last effect was that this file did remove the buildings, but the problem was it removed the ones you added also...right?The files added in the world library is in order, the files on the top of the list will exclude anything below it. If you put the resultant bgl from this scasm in the same file as the bgl you've created this problem should not occur. If you put this bgl in a seperate layer above your creation, it should exclude your work as well.Bob

HiDon't quote me on this but, I seem to remember reading somewhere in another forum that the taxiway signs are something to do with autogen.maybe if you search taxiways signs and autogen you may find more information.Otherwise try FSSC http://www.fssc.avsim.net/ and exclude all visible scenery.hope this helps daryl
