gmax export help

Recommended Posts

Guest kthy2003

I have been away from scenery design for some time and have upgraded to XP recently. I have decided to install gmax1.2 and copied the makemdl.exe file into 'gmaxplugins' folder. When I need to export the gmax model as .bgl file to FS9 I only get the 'save as - Plasma (*.P3D)' format extension option. I can't remember having this previously. The makemdl.exe do not open at all. What am I doing wrong? Has gmax moved on while I was away? PLEASE HELP.Thanks.kthy2003

Exporting with MAKEMDL has caused a lot of people grief......the gmaxsupport Forum will help...go to the flightsim forum and you will find an answer. If not, come back..I remember faintly having the same problem.

You are missing the fsmodelexp.dle file. For the moment this file only comes with Fs2002Pro, so if you have only Fs2004 you can not export at the moment. I expect that in a future SDK MS will release a new gamepack for GMax that makes it work again.
