VTP Bridges revisited :)

Recommended Posts

Guest gorchi

Hi!Today I was trying to generate one bridge in my scenery and I've got really nice result shown on pic.Since bridge is over a valley it is placed according to mesh and I would like to know, does anybody know how to make it straight, not mesh aligned? Here is the code, originaly according to the code by Rhumbaflappy:

VTPDataArea 1, 1, 2, 6VTPLayer 7, 0; bridges are layer 7VTPNumTexturesInLayer 1, 0VTPTextureId 12, 0VTPPolyCount 1, 0VTPPolyMethod2 4, 1, 0VTPWidePoint 7140, 1, 6072, 3; start pointVTPWidePointWidth 32; all widths seem to be 32	VTPChildPoint 1, 0, 1, 0; create the starthook	VTPChildPoint 68, 0, 39, 0; offset to the end of the bridge in VTP2 points	VTPChildPoint 1, 0, 1, 0; endhook

And looking at this code I wanted to ask You what third and fourth number in VTPDataArea line mean? Oh, and just one more off-the-topic question: does anybody know of the program, that I woulf put him a VTP line in ASM and then easily move it to south/nort/east/west for let's say 10m or so? Moving lines by hand (and using TDFCalc) is a little bit tedious process...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/67204.jpgMany thanks in advance and best regards,Goran BrumenFS Slovenija 2002 teamhttp://slovenia.avsim.net

I think that VTP lines will always follow mesh. So, your only alternative may be to create a custom object. Even if there is a way to make the line level, I think it would still look strange, since the bridge supports would not extend all the way to the ground.- Martin

Hi Martin!I was afraid someone will say something like that. Unfortunatelly that means new additions to VTP stuff are mor or less unusable for me :( But still, there is a good news: I don't need two VTP BGL's for FS2k2 and 2k4 :)Thanks and best regards,Goran BrumenFS Slovenija 2002 teamhttp://slovenia.avsim.net

I had that happen in 38W - Lynden that I just released. What I did was to make a very narrow flatten under the bridge. The result is hardly noticible ..... unless of course... you wan to fly under it.Joe W.
