INVISIBLE BUILDING CRASHES

Recommended Posts

I have searched the forums for entries on invisible building crashes (IBC) but have found little, yet I know people elsewhere are experiencing these. I am experiencing the ICB at 4 addon airports Malta (Daniel Chircop); Incheon (Yunjin Lee); Johannesburg (Johan van Wyk); and lately at Castlegar (Vern Opperman). An example of an IBC when an aircraft moving or stationary, is on the apron near the terminal, a building crash occurs, particularly if in spot view when panning, and there has been no visible contact with the building.I had extensive messaging with Daniel Chircop but he could not duplicate any IBC

Hello Nigel,Just a comment as I very rarely set crash detection on objects. So I am not very sure about this. If the spot plane, when you switch to spot view, "goes" to inside a building with crash detection activated, the crash happens (again, I may be completely wrong).Regards, Luis

I have seen that spot plane crash described by Luis mainly in scenery made with FSDS. It uses a different synthax for the crash code and that seems to be given such problems.I think you can best contact the author of the scenery with such problems, because he is the only one who can solve them (or you could turn of crash detection in FS).

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

Gerrish i think from memory solved the issue for FSDS and spot mode as the crash detection code generated takes its ref from your viewpoint and not the actual location of the AC. you need to edit the source code regarding the crash detection in scasm, if i can find the email i can post it up this weekend for the crash code detection. if the scenery is Gmax tho, i have no idea of the cause.rgds Jeffp.s. There is a check box in the project properties and another in the properties of the object that you are creating. Both of these have to be unchecked to disable crashes with the objects.Joe W.
