Scenery priority

Recommended Posts

Guest Seat 7

If you have one photoscenery over an area and one landclass and one mesh scenery over the same area. What order or priority should they have in the scenery.cfg to avoid conflicts with other scenerys.I think its first the scenery as number 1 and second the landclass as number 2 and finally the mesh as number 3. Is it right?Thomas BESNN

The order in the scenery.cfg file does not matter. The mesh scenery (DEM) only provides the altitude data and this will be placed under the landclass and photos in any case.Photoscenery will also always show over the landclass (if it has been created with resample, which is the most common way up to now). So also there the order does not matter.

So also there the order does not matter. This is not the result i get. Look at this 2 pictures, the first one with photoscenery in priority over the addon landclass, the second one with landclass in priority over photoscenery (in the scenery.cfg file. pic one: http://www.fotoscenery.com/fotosc_over.jpgpic two: http://www.fotoscenery.com/fotosc_under.jpgWhere the landclass have priority over the photoscenery some of the landclass tiles are showing over the photoscenery. This is not happening when the photoscenery is in priority over the landclass. Both the photoscenery and the landclass file(s) are made with resample.exe.fs is flightsim2004.www.fotoscenery.com -- norwegian photoscenery and landclass and other odd stuff......

That is interesting. Normally it is not possible to get any of the other scenery elements showing on top of the photo scenery when it is made with resample. But on the other hand that are mainly VTP and LWM elements, it could be that landclass and photoscenery can conflict because they have similar BGL fles.Maybe it is thus better to place a photoscenery on a higher priority than landclass.

Hi,unfortunatelly there could be layering problem and more than that placement of scenery in folders. It is possible, that nearest scenery can exclude Your scenery so please do check if You have maybe any overlapping scenery. As Arno said, check also for layer on which Your VTP scenery lies.Best regards,Goran BrumenFS Slovenija 2002 teamhttp://slovenia.avsim.net
