Recommended Posts

Guest wideview

Hello everybody,I am trying to built a tower with transparant windows.First I built the structure and then the windows. My problem is that everthing behind the windows is gone when lookingthrought the windows. On the pic I moved one window a bit and then you can see what is inside the tower.I am building it with FSDS2.All suggestions are welcome. Thanks,

Hello,Are you sure, your windows are really the last parts you add ?I noticed this problem appears on parts added after transparent ones.I don't know exactly why ( may be the order as FSDS build the macro ?), so that's just a suggestion...best regards, pascalhttp://perso.wanadoo.fr/p.dumat

Hi Gerald,I think in FSDSv2 you have to place the inside objects and textures first, then place your transparent outer texture last. I am including a pic of a gas pump I did. The fuel in the glass cylinder was placed just before I placed the glass cylinder. The glass cylinder and the fuel in it, both have transparent textures, so that the objects, and ground textures behind it, show all the way through. To find you hierarchy of parts placement, go to the menu Model/View Hierarchy.Take Care.Big Johnhttp://fsairports.org/images/Shell.gif

Hello guys,Thanks for the feedback. The windows where added after the cone ( the upper tower part ).To be sure I have copied all windows and deleted the former ones. Now they are really the last parts.Later today I will try and see if it helps.I will let you all know.

Hello Gerard,Happy it works now, for your question : may be with a cylinder without top.Apply the texture of your fence (DXT1 format with black alpha channel)As Lionel says, clone and flip your polygones...That's just another suggestion, best regardsPascalhttp://perso.wanadoo.fr/p.dumat

And be careful how You make texture -> mipmaps. If You move wires for 1 pix left/right-top/bottom, mipmaps will be different and can be pleasing for Your eyes or disgusting...Best regards,Goran BrumenFS Slovenija 2002 teamhttp://slovenia.avsim.net
