LIGHTING EFFECTS

Recommended Posts

Guest LCPH2004

Hello all, I was wondering if would concievably be possible to creat actual apron lighting that actually lights both aircract and the surounding area using an effect file. This would solve the problem of black aircraft on a brightly lit apron. I dont know if this is possible but I would like to know what others think on this issue.

Nope, at the moment it is not possible to light aircraft from the scenery. Scenery and aircraft are two separate parts for the scenery engine and scenery lights can not interact with the aircraft.

Thanks for that. Is it still possible just to light the actual scenery with some form of true ramp lighting, rather that some form of texture based illusion?, I would have thought that doing this would save considerable time and effort, as I am simply no good at that sort of thing. I am mainly a 3d modeler, and I can only create polygon FSSC based scenery, not the sort of stuff used by the likes of OSS. Thanks

It is possible to light the apron with lightbeam (Fs2002 gamepach LIGHT_LAND or effect files). But these tend to be a bit heavy on the frames. I did a test with a couple of hundred (only a small part of the real amount on my airport) and it really killed the frames.

Thanks for that. Where can you get the required elements and how can you implement this effect, I would like to try it on LCPH, just to see what it is like.
