FSSC & 2K4: Can't find my airport!

Recommended Posts

Hi - Ok, I tried out FSSC this morning... easy stuff, and fast! After compiling, however, and starting FS, I can't find my airport in the list... I gave it a unique name and identifier, and indeed watched as FS recognized and did whatever it does to newly recognized scenery, but nothing's there.BTW I used the FSSC tutorial to set it up.Any recommendations appreciated! Thanks,Andrew

Open FSSC, select Tools, Preferences, Location tab, and check to see if it says, "drive:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002" under FS Folder or is blank. If blank, select the FS Folder entry, press modify and point FSSC to your FS2004 root folder.By default, I believe FSSC place the compiled *.bgls in the Scenery folder using the title you gave your project.W. The reason is that FSSC uses old style SCASM ADF format vice new style XML/BGLCOMP format.I recommend using SCENEGENX or AFCAD to produce the require new style XML/BGLCOMP format.W. Sieffert

Well, thats only partially correct,The problem is that FS9 dosen't like FS2002's AFD files, so your airport will not be listed in FS9 or on your GPS but your scenery will most likely be right where you placed it in FSSC. (assuming you reset the export path to Flight Simulator 9/Addon Scenery)So the bottom line is that your out of luck if you want to add a new airport to FS9 using FSSC, but if you just want to modify an existing airport FSSC works fine. Hopefully Derek will update his awesome program for FS9 one of these days...Good Luck,Brandon
