How is mesh selected?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I have what is probably a basic question but not being a scenery designer it is mystifying me. Normally if I load in some new scenery I have to activate it. I have downloaded the mesh scenery by Justin Tyme recently uploaded here and the install was to simply put it into the FS04sceneryworldscenery folder. Now the question. How does FS04 know which mesh to use since there is no activation involved?ThanksTerry

Hi Terry,No Scenery Library activation is required since the default installation puts the files in a folder that is already registered in the Scenery Library. The general rule, for most intents and purposes, is that the terrain engine will first scan for all available terrain mesh, and automatically display the highest resolution it finds for any given LOD quadrant. There are various "tie-breakers" after that if it finds different same-LOD (Level of Detail) files in the same folder, but those are special cases that are usually moot.-------Justinhttp://www.fsgenesis.netHigh Quality Scenery for FS200x
