From the Guide Quote:Image ReprojectionYou may find it necessary to reproject your original image to the Flight Simulator standard using one of the following programs.1. ERDAS ViewFinder http://gis.leica-geosystems.com/erdascentral2. ECW Plugins http://www.ermapper.com/downloads/3. Geospatial Data Abstraction Library http://www.remotesensing.org/gdal//QuoteFor help in using the GDAL programs, Digital Grove has packaged the necessary files with a quick tutorial and some example batch files for converting raster images. This bundle is available here: http://www.digitalgrove.net/dgwarp.zip (12 mb)Of interest is the batch fileutm_jpg2latlong_tif.batThis could be used for reprojecting images from USAPhotmaps. Note that as of this version (2.65) the bigjpeg capability is included.scott s..

Tools and other thingsThere are prizes, awards, medals for all sorts of things in this hobby: best airplane, best commercial jet, best Boeing, best 737, etc. But, there is never a recognition of the work by all those who create the tools and dispense the knowledge that allow others to make the final product. One of those people in our particular branch of the hobby is Arno Gerretsen. He has a wide-ranging and in-depth knowledge of Flight Simulator scenery, and is very willing to share his knowledge and provide his help to all. In addition, he has put together a variety of tools that do specialized tasks that would otherwise be difficult to carry out.You can find his tools at:http://www.scenerydesign.org/forum/downloads.phpand also the numerous fora where all aspects of scenery design are discussed and that are frequented by all the most experienced designers:http://www.scenerydesign.org/If anyone deserves a FS scenery appreciation award, it is certainly Arno.

VTP linesNOTE: Please replace all instances of < and > by [ and ] in this textVTP lines are an extremely powerful feature of the terrain engine. This is nothing new and Dick Ludowise probably described all the details a few years ago. There are some people who have been using their own line definitions in scenery as well, such as Holger Sandmann and others. And, both Christian Fumey's Ground2K4 and Luis de S

Hi everyone,I was trying to help a friend who was new to Gmax texture some simple buildings over the weekend, and after attempting to write down the texturing process, it occurred to me that it might be easier to show it visually. I've just uploaded the first of my video tutorials to my site at http://www.antelopesimworks.com/tutorials/...g-texturing.wmv if you're interested. This is NOT for people who already have a handle on texturing in Gmax, but is designed for newbies who haven't quite put all the pieces together yet.thanks,

Small exclusion rectangles. Nothing too big, and you need to be certain that you don't include the airport reference point. If you need more basic info, there's a number of tutorials around. Check the "shop talk" forum at our website for some...Best,sg
