Combining scenery and aircraft

Recommended Posts

I seem to remember on the Eurowings Commuter set for FS2002, there was a BAe 146 that would display a tug on the front wheel when the engines where shut down. There was also a Ground Power Unit that appeard whenever the ground power switch n the aircraft was switched on.I would like to know if it is possible to do this to other aircraft, say when a door is open some stairs wold appea, or if this was something that was hard coded ino the aircraft during it's creation. Thanks for any info.-Phil

Hi Phil,I am not an aircraft designer, but as far as I know these elements are all hardcoded into the MDL of the aircraft. So that means that you can not add it later to different aircraft, the designer would have to put it in there right away.

Arno is quite correct. All of that must be in the a/c's .mdl file, and would be controlled via embedded XML code in the .mdl as well.My "dream" is to develop a "tug" that could use a separate "engine" as well as a "driver's view" that would allow the pilot to "tow" his/her a/c around the airport. :)

Hello Phil,The guys have given you the answer. You may, however, want to consider dynamic scenery objects that approach the aircraft (something like the jetways). Take a look at BusyObjects by Bernd Fix (in the AvSim library). Of course, you would have to create the objects (tugs, stairs), but perhaps it is possible to get what you want for any airplane without having to create it in the original visual model.Best regards.Luis
