Recommended Posts

Guest herbie49

I'm a newbie with gmax, I just finished the creating a house model from the tutorial. Now I want to export the house if I select export to, I have only the choice of plasma(*.P3D) not a .mdl file. I also tried to export it as house.mdl but gmax write do not know how to save that file type. What i'm doing wrong any help is appreciated.

Hi Herbie,Did you install the GMax SDK from MicroSoft? You need it to be able to export as a MDL file. Another option could be that you did not start GMax with the Fs2004 shortcut, without this the gamepack is not loaded correctly.

In your Gmaxgamepacksfs2004 folder you should find a shortcut. You need to use this shortcut to start FS, else the gamepack is not loaded correctly.

Hi Arno,Thanks for the reply and help. I found the shortcut and now I can export the house as *.mdl. I still have problems with gmax it is to complicated for me. Is there a program which can convert or import an api macro and than export to an .mdl file?

No, at the moment GMax is the only tool that is able to make a Fs2004 style scenery MDL file.

It's all on FS9 Disk #1 in D:extrasGmax (where D: is the CD drive).Double click on GMax12.exe and then follow the instructions to install it.
