Recommended Posts

Guest sak1134

I have built my first airport scenery in FS2004 and would like to add a working windsock, is there an easy way to do it?

I don't know which tools you used, but there is a very simple XML command to place the default windsock. Have a look at the BGLComp SDK.

Hi! If u are using api style objects into airport or FSSC there is a windsock api included in a zip file of few objects made by Pascal Dumat. You can get here. http://perso.wanadoo.fr/p.dumat/zip/macrofpl.zipThere are 2 apis related to windsocks. mancheair1.api and mancheair2.api and their related texture files, mancheair1.bmp, mancheair2.bmpmanche a air = windsock in french. Both socks are wind influenced in direction and strenght. One pecularity of wind activated objects is that you have to put at least 2 of them within a reasonable distance ( few hundred feet is no problem) for them to work properly. Now if your scenery calls for only one of it, then you could put the other one hidden, and sized down if necessary, in a nearby hangar for example.Pascal's Readme file (actualy Lisez-moi.txt)is written in french. If this is a problem, just buzz here or send me an email at hugo1852001@yahoo.caHugo.
