Multitexturing in a fence

Recommended Posts

Guest Jos

Hi,Is it possible to use different colors in a "fence"-like setup: an antenna with red and white segments/parts ? Because... only one color appear. Or have I made some errors ?It seems that I can make the red and white items as parts and then attach the parts (planes) to eachother... Greetz. Jos

Hi Jose,Each polygon can only have one color. So if you want different colors you would have to use a lot of different parts. But I think that is not the best solution, making use of a texture that has the textures you want is much easier.

Hi,Is it so difficult ? Have now made a part for the white textures and a second for the red part... and put it all together. Is the program GMAX not working as it should when I try to texture the red and the white parts in one plane ? Or another one ?Second problem is now to have it lighted at night. With a DXT3 with Alpha file and another one with the _LM extention ? Have tried that, but probably the wrong way to do it.What's the solution please.Greetz. Jos

Hi Arno,Our posts have crossed eachother. Each polygon has his own color as you can see on the screenshot. But deviding a polygon in four sections and texture it with red or a white colored image... that's the problem... it doesn't work by me.Greetz. Jos

Hi,I found a fault into the file for the red color. I made also a DXT1 with Alpha.Have now the right configuration. As Arno said: it is not advisable to texture different colors in one plane. Even when I texture one color on different locations in this plane (divided in several parts), there is a difference in tiling and tiling apart is also not possible... al the tiles move together.Greetz. Jos
