Best Way to Exclude Part of Add-on Scenery

Featured Replies

Hi,What would be the best way to exclude part of an add-on scenery, other than contacting the original author? For example, the excellent Mosher scenery for CYQM was created when the old terminal was still used. They have included the new terminal in the scenery, but blocked off the taxiways to the new terminal with vehicles and fences. Since is now in use, I'd also like to use it in FS2004 by masking the taxiway obstructions.I have tried creating a small exclude file in Airport for Windows and adding it to the scenery library at a higher level than the scenery I want to mask, but this does not seem to work. I have also tinkered with several different tools to decompile the BGL files from the Mosher scenery, but I am having trouble here too.Any other ideas? Thanks,Michel

Hi,There is no other easy way than ask the author since the buildings most likely sits together in one BGL and cannot easily be removed.Excludes only works for default scenery, not add-ons.Bjorn

They can also work for addon scenery, but for a small exclude to work it must be exactly on the reference point of the object you want to remove. And they are not always located in a logical location (or multiple buildings could be group into one object).

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.
