What's the difference between FSMeteo and FS' real weat

Recommended Posts

I've been flying with FSMeteo for years, and because FSFlightMax doesn't support it I switched back to FS real weather feature. Quite frankly, I'm not seeing much difference. Explain to me again why I need FSMeteo?!?!Noel

Noel,The simple answer is because FS_Meteo is far superior to FS's Real weather. Look at all the features and user preferences in FS Meteo and try to find ANY in FS.Secondly, FS_Meteo works with most the add-on out there, FS's weather doesn't. I don't know what's up with FlightMax if it's the case it doesn't work with FS_Meteo, but John needs to address that if true. FS_Meteo sets the weather and FlightMax should read it.FS_Meteo also has downloadable files for over a year. Can't do that with FS. FS_Meteo can do 6-minute updating with accurate reporting station changes, FS doesn't. User can define weather change speed, wind limits, transitional change limits and speeds, etc. Can't do that with FS. FS_Meteo can set the weather for the arrival airport a user-defined distance out so programs like RC will give you accurate arrival weather when you're 100 miles out. Can't with FS. FS Weather doesn't work at all with RC.I could list about 10 other items, but you get the point.FS_Meteo is just simply vastly superior.

Thanks Scott. John has been working on a bug with FSMeteo and FSFMax and he will release an update within the week or so. It's been a topoic of discussion on their forum. I guess maybe one reason it hasn't been more apparent is that I don't use RC or other add ons, except FSFMax. But I get the point.Cheers,Noel
