FS2008 - Aerial photographic scenery of world?

Recommended Posts

Guest

Just been looking at Paul's aerial photographic Rochester Scenery, very nice. With the cessna flying over the airport ACTUALLY for once in FS makes it feel real.Obviously scenery like that will take up quiet a lot of HD space, but with technology getting better, can we start to expect more of that type of scenery to come out?Just think how many CDs there would be with FS if the whole world was aerial photography. Sure i'd buy something like that even if it were around

Yeah, I agree, it would be nice to have "the real thing" for each country/region.I mean, the states and Europe are considerably "well shaped" if we compare all the cities to how they actually look, but South America looks like a little town in the middle of the fields.... :(

I think someday all that will be on-line..you connect to go flying and some giant data bank provides the scenery in real-time.

I don't know about online but I suppose it would all depend on the level of detail that could be pumped through the broadband of the day. But certainly putting wholes regions or states or something on DVD seems viable.Noel

Satellite-photo based scenery is undoubtedly the future of simulation. The satisfaction of flying VFR over terrain you are acquainted with and can recognize from above is very exciting and rewarding.Hopefully MS will make an effort in that direction for FS2004...CheersTwister
