Strange bouncing effect while taxying on concrete!

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I posted this over on the fs9 forum, but maybe that was the wrong place, so appologies if your reading this a second time!Over the holiday I loaded up FSG North America, GE Pro, UT USA, Portland and Rhode Island - and somewhere in there I noticed my aircraft are now taxying (on the pan/concrete taxyways) as though they are on grass: i.e. they "lope": the nose goes up and down, and there is visible dirt being thrown up from the gear. It's not so noticable in a taildragger, but it's still there, and really noticeable in the 727. It applies to all airports I've tried. It seems to be loading the wrong "whatsitcalled" texture or function, but I don't know where to start looking. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Thanks for any assistance.pj

Just an update and a solution that might help someone else. I confirmed the "bouncing/loping" and dirt effects were only at Seattle - which is Fly Tampa's, and so went to their site. Lo and behold! - - a "sticky" thread on the subject! I am not alone!. However their were numerous "try this" and "try that" pointers, but nothing concrete, but one suggestion was to push UT USA down below the photo levels in the scenery config. I did this - didn't fix it, so then I pushed the "sandwich" patch - FSGLC and UT CITY layers down, too. THAT fixed the issue. So there we are.

Nice to know you found a solution, Paul.In general, we do not have enough information on particular scenery packages and techniques used that would allow for finding solutions. The best advice is always to ask the developer, since he knows how he made it.Best regards.Luis
