Simple 747 modification

Recommended Posts

Since getting FS2002, I have not been flying the 747 (due to the power settings being way too powerfull), but I am now giving it another go.I simply add full speed-brake at all times, and have been pleasantly surprised by the new flight model. Now if you try to take off fully fueled without a lot of flap - you won't even make it off the ground (20 deg works great, and she climbs like a lead weight). Lightly fueled you will need to keep the throttle at at least 50%, or you will be sorry. If you stall on approach - you will literaly drop out of the sky like a 300 tonne house.I am starting to think this flight model (with the speed-brakes on) is more realistic than any other I have tried in FS2000. It is definetly more challenging, as the plane is now very unforgiving of mistakes.HK

The 747 flies well enough (so says MS). I only wish they would fix the instruments so they would not be so jerky. I know it cannot be that the panel is too complicated for the computer as my Wilco PIC 767 flies very nicely on my AMD XP 1800+ system.Terry

there's a line in the panel.cfg that says something like Update=6. change it to update=0 or remove the line entirely. This will eliminate the jerkiness.michael
