If you use a Library object then it will not rotate. To attach it to an other scenery object - the object that you are attaching it to needs to have an attachment point and that (the attachment point), as I recall, must be included by the object designer and cannot be added later. An alternative is to create the beacon using XML (as per the SDK) and then place it at the correct location and altitude so that it appears attached to the scenery object

Thanks Jon. I appreciate your help.I followed the SDK instructions on creating and placing effects, and (after it sank in that I must use meters instead of feet for the height) I was able to place the light in the already established lighthouse using a separate bgl file. What I now have to do is learn how to attach effects to scenery models so they can be placed with the effect using ADE. I'm using FSDS to create the models and there does not seem to be any means to attach an effect within the program.ArtBiostar TF560-A2+ | Athlon 64X2-6000+ | 4GB PC2-6400 RAM | Geforce 8800GTS-320MB | 500W PSU | 250GB HD | FSX(SP1-Acceleration) | UTX | Audigy SE sound | Vista Home Premium 32 bit | CH Yoke (modified) & Pedals | Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick | 22" WS LCD monitor
