Where to get started?

Recommended Posts

Hi Kenneth:there can never be enough mesh designers ;-) Welcome!A good starting point, IMHO, is Steve Greenwood's website: http://www.fs-traveler.com/welcome.shtmlAlso, the FS2002 Scenery SDK documents are brief but required reading (Steve's writings will help you understand some of the "fuzzy" parts of them):http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimul...wnloads_sdk.asp Depending on how deeply involved you'd like to become (and the base data you're planning to use) it's probably a good thing to download, install, and familiarize yourself with the basic functions of MicroDEM:http://www.usna.edu/Users/oceano/pguth/website/microdem.htm(do a search in this forum for "Microdem" to receive some more tips on how to use it).Other than that I'd recommend picking a small area that you're familiar with and with quite a bit of relief, so that you have a good chance of a quick and positive experience.Hope this helps. Cheers, Holger
